Let me file a brief report on the Quality Control test we had yesterday.

Okay.. I've decided not to blog too much about our QC test yesterday. Those interested in knowing the results... well, I think Jacinth and I both gave a pass! so that's good enuff to know rite?
haha...ok end of story.
----Hong Kong-----
I was enrolled in Chinese University of Hong Kong for a month. Studying Chinese medicine and cantonese. It's a pretty nice school... if... it hasn't have slopes, hills, mountains, hot weather, humid like shit weather. Everyday, for me to go out... i have to take a lift down from my flat on level 7, go down to ground floor.. walk to the mountain.. and climb 7 floors worth of steep steps.. and then climb up a slope that is almost 30deg inclined. When I reach CCH Hostel, I have to take a lift up 10 floor to united college, then walk to the bus stop and wait for the bus.. which comes at 20 min interval?
This makes me appreciate shuttle bus A1, A2, C, D, and B...(for those who duno, these are NUS shuttle)...
okay enough of grumbling,... Hong Kong was nice.. cultures pretty similar i guess.. I mean.. i dun feel the culture shock when I just reached there. But I know some of the Westerners were unable to accept the food.. the environment etc.
Yeah, I had my fair share of shopping, eating and WALKING long distance... like from TST MTR to Mongkok KCR? Well.. i was shopping too.. and it took me abt 5-6 hours to walk from TST to Mongkok. I was mad!
So... what's the best I had?
Dim Sum - Maxim Palace at Mongkok. It was super crowded, me and my frens have to wait for at least an hour to get in. But it was a Sunday ... so maybe it's super crowded.
Egg Tarts - I love macau port. egg tarts. Otherwise, for the normal egg tarts, Central's one is one of the better tasting ones. It's called Tai Cheong bakery. Well, HK egg tarts are generally quite good. It's best to buy from those small bakeries that dun look very nice in appearance..well, what i meant is.. kinda run down. Dun be deceived by their appearances, their egg tarts are superb and it's fresh!
Road Side shopping - Basically, they are almost everywhere. Whether you like them anot, its another thing. These are the cheap bargains... really very cheap. Most tourists would prefer to go to Ladies Market.. but.. I recommend ... the street market at the cross road of Bute Street and Fa Yuen Street. Although they dun have as much stuff as ladies Market, I find the stuff there cheaper and not so crowded.
Super High End shopping - okay, this is easy. Just go to the malls that are introduced in guide books. For example, IFC mall, Pacific Place, Harbour City, ANY Lane Crawford, etc etc
Reasonable shopping (mid to high end) - Langham Place, New Town Plaza @ Shatin, SOGO, Causeway Bay (full of shopping areas...), H&M (aww, my favourite!), Festival Walk @ Kownloon Tong,
Best transportation to Hong Kong Island - FERRY.. cos it's damn cheap.. compared to MTR.
Food - erh.. i still prefer singapore food. BUT their roasted stuff are not bad. The skins are alwayz crispy. However, I realise... they dun serve alot of veggies so you mus order your own plate of veggie. Buy your own fruits from street market (cross road of Bute street and fa yuen street).
People - they speak cantonese ... and most can understand mandarin and speak a little. Some can speak english too.... so if you dun speak or understand cantonese, try mandarin, if not, try english.. if still cannot, take a map from the airport.. so that if you're lost, the map's in english! =P
well, streets in HK is.... SUPER crowded. ESPECIALLY in mongkok. it's madness... I didn't have any nasty experience of pickpocket.. so I guess it's relatively safe.well... jus be extra careful!
